In a recently released book, It’ll Rain Someday…Always Does, author Carol Durham Henderson narrates the life of her great-grandfather, Thomas Henry Cherryhomes, and a family story rich in ranching heritage.

Longtime Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association members, the Henderson/Durham Ranch was established in Jack County in 1890 and has remained in the family for more than five generations. In her book, Henderson draws from personal experience, stories and historical truths to preserve a story for the ages.

Writer, ranch owner and retired art dealer, Carol Durham Henderson cherishes the ranching way of life. Calling Jacksboro, Texas, and the ten thousand acre Henderson-Durham Ranch her home, she is proud to be a fourth generation Texas ranch owner. This book, “It’ll Rain Someday .. Always Does”, based on personal experience and historical accounts, is her first.

Henderson Durham Ranch

The Henderson-Durham Ranch, founded in 1890, is located in Jack County Texas. A family limited partnership, the ranch is a cow-calf operation with 10,000 acres dedicated to production of fine registered Angus beef cattle. Managed by J. Curtis Henderson, great great grandson of the founder, T.H. Cherryhomes, the ranch was designated a Texas Historic Ranch by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
